I more often than not think about having a sibling for Dylan, another baby for us. How can I not? We were blessed with Dylan two years ago yesterday. Why couldn’t we be blessed again. We have left it all in God’s hands so if it happens than it was part of his plan, meant to be. So what has led me to this post today. My period is due I think within the next 5 days. I forgot to write down when I got it in September but I’m pretty sure it’s been close to a month.

It’s been on my mind a lot lately. I mean I really could be….

I have heart burn today and the last time I’ve gotten heartburn was in the early stages of my pregnancy of Dylan. I have also have had a pain on my left side, not a pulling like before but a pain. And it’s not a PMS pain since I usually get those on the right side.

Or it could be nothing. I actually pee’d on a stick about 2 months ago because I thought I was and I wasn’t.

The other day I was dry heaving after eating eggs. I felt really icky after eating them. Jason says Hey maybe you are pregnant. Yah right I thought. And then yesterday I forget what happend but again he says Maybe you are pregnant and I replied. What if I was? Would you be happy if I was? He said He would be happy if I was or if I wasn’t. I agree. I love our little guy so much. We are truly blessed.

Today after Dylan woke up from his nap, he went running out to the couch to see Daddy watching TV. Daddy explained he was watching football and did Dylan want to watch it too? I heard daddy explaining what was going on with tackling, catching and throwing the ball, touchdowns – the whole bit. I didn’t expect to see what I saw when I walked by soon thereafter. Daddy had his arm around Dylan who was cuddled up against Daddy and the two of them were actually watching football together. It looked so darn cute! Daddy has been waiting for the day the two of them could watch football together and today daddy’s dream came true!

Awhile ago I got Dylan a book about ‘big boys’ that use the potty instead of wearing diapers. He has really enjoyed reading the book with mommy about the boy named Charlie Thomas who gets a blue star sticker every time he goes pee in the potty. He knows the book so well when I reference who Charlie Thomas is, Dylan is always quick say “Blue Sticker Star!”.

I have been telling Dylan when he goes pee pee on the Potty he too will get a Blue Sticker Star. Dylan has tried to sit on the potty but nothing comes out. He gets a “Good try you make mommy so happy” comment but I don’t give him a sticker.

Recently, I’ve been telling Dylan when he wants to pee, he needs to ‘push’ the pee out and he tries it. I have also been telling him to try stopping the pee and then making the pee go again. He has been successful with both pushing and making it stop/go when he pees on the floor and/or in the tub.

Today, however, as he was running around the house with no clothes on after his bath, I asked him if he could try pushing the pee out into the potty. He was willing to try it. We got his newly decorated potty and at first he sat down on it but then stood up and he pushed and he did it! He was pee’ing standing up and he aimed for the potty and he got it. I had to move the potty a few times but he got it! He was then excited to dump the pee into the toilet and flush it away.

I told him how proud and happy I was of him. And he looked so happy and proud of himself as well. He was so excited that he did it, he was singing and dancing thereafter even more so than he usual does!

I was so proud of Dylan today. He wanted to go up a ladder type thingy to go down the roller slide. I was trying to keep it together and instill confidence in him (and me) as I watched him sometimes stumble on the ladder rungs. The first time was a bit shaky, but thereafter, he did fantastic. Each time getting a little better. As long as he kept his focus and watched his footing, he did great. He is getting to be such a big boy! Although he will always be my baby. I even ask him ‘Dylan who is mommy’s baby?’ and he will reply “Din din” He makes me so happy.

Well…it’s been awhile and i’ve wished i’ve kept up with this site but i haven’t. At times I really could have used an outlet for my thoughts. I’ve upldated journal entries on Dylan’s site so at least I have most of his milestones there but i’ve been neglecting my own. Okay, I really don’t have any milestones but I have been neglecting me and it’s time that I started doing things for me and not just for the little guy. Okay okay I know that all sounds good but will I really – yah that’s the problem… I say i’m going to participate in the Mom night out events or take up a class or even just go to the gym but by the end of the day the last thing I want to do after Jason gets home and we eat dinner is to go out. I know that an hour after Jason gets home, Dylan will most likely be asleep and then I can rest so I don’t go out as I probably should. Whatever.

Also, I miss the little guy. I am with him 24/7 literally. He sleeps between us, I am with him all day long, I feed him, clothe him, play and educate him. Jason usually gets Dylan alone for play time, bath time and book time which is probably under an hour only because if Dylan shows signs of tiredness, than it’s time for the little guy to go to sleep. He is only young once and soon when he grows up, he isn’t going to want his mom around all the time. I know this and want to cherish all the with him as I can yet I also do it because I will miss him and well honestly because I don’t have anything else to do. I mean if I did have something else to do then I would arrange for Jason or Mimi to watch him but I don’t have a life outside of the baby and that’s what i’m referring to when I say I’m neglecting me.

It’s also part laziness as mentioned previously. I have so many things I need to do besides take care of the baby that I don’t have any time. OMG I am so tired of looking at baskets of laundry everywhere. I feel as if I am constantly washing and stacking and folding and putting away laundry. IT NEVER ENDS! Jason is wonderful and helps out a lot but I know taking care of the house is my job so I guess when he says he is doing it for me, I try to remind myself that he is saying I did this for you so now you don’t have to do it and then it’s okay with me.

Well my eyes are sleepy and I need to take advanttage of my sleep when I can get it.

We just got back from his 1 year doctor’s appointment. The appointment was at 2pm which is right smack in the middle of his nap time so needless to say he was a bit overtired and not very happy to be kept in a little room for 45 minutes. And then to top it all off, he had 3 shots and one finger prick for a blood test.

He did great on the finger prick test, just sat there watching the nurse. But then it was time to get the shots, I held him and she shot him the arm. After she was done with the first quick shot, from his chest up to his head, he turned bright red and you knew there was a big scream coming and boy did it come! She then stuck him again and then we had to switch arms for another. The whole time he was crying and saying ‘moma moma moma moma’ – I was about to cry myself just listening and watching him.

After the shots were done and the nurse left, he just sat there crying for another few minutes and I just held him and told him it was okay. I got him dressed, he had a bottle of milk and less than 5 minutes in the car, he was sound asleep. Poor little guy. He has to go back 2 months for a 2nd dose of the flu shot and then more shots at his 15 months appointment which is in January. He was actually due for 4 shots but I had chosen not to give him the MMR right now. I know all the doctors say it doesn’t cause autism but I am just not 100% on it right now and Dylan’s doctor said that it was fine, we could wait as long as we wanted, he just needed to get it before he goes to preschool. So yay for understanding pediatricians.

Finally his growth update. He’s gained 2 pounds and 3 inches. He is in the 50 percentile for weight and head size and he jumped from 50 to 90 percentile for height. Doctor said that was a huge growth spurt. Looks like he doesn’t get his height from daddy!

Last night went Amazing! I went to bed at 11pm and before that gave Dylan a “dream feed”. Basically stuck the bottle in his mouth while he was asleep and he drank the entire thing. So he then slept until 2am (which is great for him) – woke up at 2am, cry a minute or two about wanting to eat, I cuddled with him, gave him his bear and told him it is ‘nigh nigh time’ and he went to sleep! Then he woke up again at 4am crying and crying – this is his I want a whole bottle time – I again soothed him and it took a little bit more but he did go to sleep until 5am. He then woke at 5:30 and was up for the day but I talked to him and we watched some t.v. and at 6am I gave him a bottle. We didn’t have to leave the room once last night – I can’t believe how well he did. I can’t believe he went to sleep w/out a bottle in his mouth – I hope it wasn’t just a fluke and he was just exhausted from the previous night. I’ll believe it’s working if it continues to work tonight. We shall see!

Night 4 recap – that was the first night Dylan had to go 7 hours with no milk. So he was doing good until he woke at 2am and wanted a drink, he tossed and tumbled for about a half hour but did finally go to sleep when I got up and rocked him in another room. Then 3:45 am rolled around and this is the time, he usually drinks a full bottle. Oh the crying…… I felt so bad. He kept saying “mom momma momma mom mom” over and over and “ni ni ni ni” which means I’m hungry/thristy. My heart was breaking. He kept looking directly at me with little tears in his eyes which seemed to be asking me WHY AREN’T YOU FEEDING ME MOM? And I just kept apologizing to him and told him how proud of him i was and how good he was doing. He finally fell asleep an hour and a half later at 5:15am again in another room. I carried him back to bed and he woke up at 10 minutes before 6 am. 6 am he could have the milk again but i said screw it, it was close enough and gave him his well deserved bottle. <!-- D(["mb","</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\>Needless to say he was utterly exhausted all day. He didn't take good naps today and it was difficult to get him down for the night. Has been sleeping for almost 2 hours now. I'll feed him one more time before he goes for his 7 hour stretch beginning at 11pm. I have no idea how this is going to go but we shall soon see. I am hoping Dr Jay Gordon is right that this will work and he won't hate me for it!
</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\>I wasn't sad at all on Dylan's birthday. I have had other moms tell me they were upset their little baby is growing up but I guess because I am so focused on how fun he is now and all the great and exciting things we have to do as he gets older, I am just looking forward to it all.
</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\>Oh the cashcrate is a site where you get paid for doing things like filling out surveys, registering with different sites etc. Each time you complete a 'task' it pays a specific amount. Seems to be good so far, the problem with it is that I get a ton of spam/junk mail so i made sure i used a yahoo/hotmail email address and also you need to give out a phone number so i gave out my cell. OK that thing constantly rings now from telemarketers so that kind of stinks but i just never answer it unless i know the person and just turn the ringer down low. I read that some people have made a lot of money doing this and I just thought i would try it out to help get some extra money for bills and things.
</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\>Okay time for some ice cream before Dylan wakes up and wants all my attention. :-) Wish us luck on continuing with the Dr Jay thing. By Friday we will have done 6 nights and per Dr Jay Gordon "By the end of the sixth night, your baby is going back to sleep without being nursed or fed.

We are on night 4 of following Dr. Jay Gordon’s cosleeping weaning from night feedings plan. Here is a link to the article if anyone is interested. http://www.drjaygordon.com/development/ap/sleep.asp

The 1st three nights, went good. When Dylan awoke, I fed him a little bit of milk and then when his sucking slowed and/or after a minute, I pulled the bottle out of his mouth. Quite a few times, he would fuss about this but would finally fall asleep. The longest amount of time he was up was an hour and a half. But I consider it to be way easier than what I’m about to go through tonight. Night 4 – no milk from 11pm to 6am. Well it’s 11:02 now and i’m going to log off and try to get some sleep before he wakes up at midnight looking for a bottle. Wish me luck – I will let you know how it goes in the a.m.
